About Us
Glow Impact CIC is a youth empowerment organisation that was founded to provide marketable skills for disadvantaged youths in Scotland to position them to harness their true potential and contribute to the economic growth of Scotland. We execute our objectives through the provision of in-demand skills training that will not just productively engage young people but also present them with opportunities for a great life. We also provide other services to young people to promote their mental well-being, mentor them and give them access to global opportunities.
Vision
To be Scotland’s leading organisation that provides young people with access to in-demand skills, opportunities, and profitable employment
Mission
Connecting young people with access to global opportunities through a commitment to continuous growth, training, and development.
Our Goal
The goal of the project is to equip, train, and mentor disadvantaged youths and teenagers in Scotland through the provision of digital skills training.
Those we supports includes:
- Economic inactive youths
- Disabled youths and teenagers
- Teenagers from poor household
Target Audience
Glow Impact CIC is a beacon of hope that is dedicated to addressing the profound issue of economic inactivity among Scotland’s youths, specifically targeting individuals aged 13 – 24 from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds. Our central objective is to bridge the gap between ambition and opportunity by fostering empowerment through skill development in Scotland. We have about 197,200 inactive youths in Scotland who are within the range age of 13 – 24 years old who are not in any education or training (Annual population survey by the Scottish Government) while we also have 250,000 poor kids in primary and secondary school in Scotland.

Digital Skills Training
Career Coach
Participants in our programmes will be trained on how to develop websites from the basic level to the advanced stages.
Building Mobile Application
We will train participants in our skill development programme on how to build efficient mobile applications for android and iOS.
Digital Marketing
Digital marketing has transformed how business is done today. We will train young people on the practical steps involved in digital marketing.
Employability Skill
Beyond digital skill training, we will also train participants in employability skills including critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration and more
Our Relevance
Training poor youths in digital skills holds immense importance in bridging the socio-economic gap and preparing them for a technology-driven world. Digital skills will empower the youths and teenagers with tools to navigate the modern landscape, unlocking opportunities for education and employment. In today’s interconnected society, proficiency in digital literacy enhances communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. It opens doors to global opportunities and knowledge. Moreover, digital skills are increasingly essential in various industries and they foster economic inclusivity. By investing in the digital education of underprivileged youths and teenagers, we will promote social mobility, reduce inequality, and contribute to a more equitable future.
Our Approach
Our comprehensive approach encompasses the provision of free counselling, mental health programmes, and career advisory services. This is aside from the digital skill training we plan to provide. Through these services, we aim not only to impart digital skills such as WordPress website design, mobile app development, employability training, graphic design, and digital marketing but also to address broader issues and concerns such as career development, and mental wellbeing amongst others.
Impact of Economically Inactive Youths
Youth unemployment and inactivity have a range of adverse consequences for individuals, the economy, and society. Costs of youth unemployment and inactivity include:
- Higher benefit payments
- Lower health status
- Low social inclusion
- Periods of youth unemployment can also have a long-lasting impact on young people’s future labour market outcomes
The Cost Impact of Economically Inactive Youth
Using data and costs gained from the Stat Explore, NOMIS, and the ONS, in 2020, the total cost of welfare was around £189 million in 2021 as the number of young people claiming benefits grew. It was also possible to see that while the average claim amount was similar, the number of claimants doubled over this time.
In a worst-case scenario, where someone remains economically inactive for the rest of their working life the average individual could potentially cost over £340,000 in direct welfare benefit. This discounts any other costs associated with health and well-being.
